What is clinker brick?
Clinker brick is a durable building material made by firing natural clay at high temperatures until it sinters. Its low water absorption, freeze-thaw resistance and natural colour make it suitable for façades, interior walls and architectural details. Its colour comes from the clay and firing process rather than a surface coating.
What are clinker brick slips and clinker façade cladding?
Clinker cladding uses thin clinker brick slips installed on an exterior or interior surface with compatible adhesive and wide-joint mortar. It can be used on new buildings and façade renovations. The slip, adhesive, joint filler, corner elements and substrate preparation must be assessed as one system.
How much do clinker and exterior brick slips cost?
Prices vary by product, colour, texture and order quantity. Material prices start from TRY 6 plus VAT per piece, or approximately TRY 360 plus VAT per m² at the standard consumption rate. Corner pieces, adhesive, joint filler, delivery and labour are calculated separately. A current quotation requires the project area, delivery city and selected range.
What size are clinker brick slips and how many are used per m²?
The standard Işıklar brick slip measures 215×65×15 mm and weighs about 430 g. Average consumption with an approximately 10 mm joint is 60 pieces per m². The corner slip measures 215×102×65×15 mm and uses about 13 pieces per linear metre. Exact consumption depends on the range and joint width.
How should clinker brick joints be filled?
Clinker brick slips are generally installed with joints around 10 mm wide. They should be filled with Flex Joint Filler developed for wide brick joints and suitable for a 5–15 mm application range. Standard ceramic grout should not be treated as a direct substitute for wide joints and exterior façade conditions.
What types of decorative wall brick are available?
The main options are clinker brick slips, handmade antique brick slips and manufactured culture-brick products. For exterior use, assess the material, UV and freeze-thaw resistance, water absorption, colour stability and manufacturer documentation as well as appearance. Documented clinker products are a strong option for long-term façade performance.
Izoklinker and insulated façades

What is the Izoklinker system?
Izoklinker is a package façade system comprising channelled XPS insulation boards, Işıklar clinker brick slips, Flex Adhesive, Flex Joint Filler and anchors selected for the wall type. It combines thermal insulation with a natural brick finish in one installation.
What is included in an Izoklinker package?
The manufacturer system plans 9 m² of channelled XPS board, 9 m² of clinker brick slips, suitable anchors, Flex Adhesive and Flex Joint Filler together. Colour, board thickness, anchor type and consumption are finalised according to the substrate and project detail.
What thicknesses are available for Izoklinker insulation?
Channelled XPS boards are available in 35, 55 and 80 mm thicknesses and measure 600×1250 mm. Thickness should be selected from the building thermal calculation, wall construction and project requirements rather than appearance alone.
Can Izoklinker be installed on an existing building?
The system can be used on new buildings and existing façade renovations. Before installation on reinforced concrete, brick, aerated concrete or similar substrates, surface alignment, load capacity, moisture condition and anchor selection must be verified on site.
How does Izoklinker differ from conventional ETICS?
Conventional ETICS generally ends with render and paint, whereas Izoklinker finishes the insulation board with clinker brick slips. It therefore combines insulation and a natural brick surface. Selection should consider building height, substrate, fire strategy, details and budget.
GRC façade systems

What is a GRC façade?
GRC is a glass-fibre reinforced concrete façade material made by combining alkali-resistant glass fibre with cement and suitable additives. Channels in Işıklar GRC panels match brick-slip dimensions, speeding up alignment and improving installation accuracy.
What are the size and thickness of an Işıklar GRC panel?
The standard channelled Işıklar GRC panel measures 600×1250 mm with a stated thickness of 8±2 mm. Project-specific substructure, fixing and joint details must be designed to the structural and façade project.
What is the purpose of brick channels in a GRC panel?
The channels help control the line, joint and alignment of brick slips, enabling faster and more consistent placement across large façades. Panel fixing, adhesive, joints and anchors must still follow the manufacturer specification.
Where can GRC façade systems be used?
They can be used on housing, villas, shopping centres, offices, hospitals, tall buildings, prefabricated structures, bridges and viaducts. Suitability is assessed for each project according to height, structure, wind loads, fire strategy and fixing details.
How should a GRC façade be assessed for fire and earthquakes?
The manufacturer classifies Işıklar GRC as A1 non-combustible. Seismic and wind performance depends not only on the panel but also on substructure, anchors, joint spacing and correct installation. Suitability therefore requires structural design and project-specific assessment.
Roof and tile systems

What types of roof systems are available?
The Işıklar range includes Padova, Granada, Valensiya and Marseille tiles together with ridges, special tiles, vapour-control membranes, eaves ventilation pieces and installation accessories. A roof system is formed by selecting the main tile and all compatible accessories together.
How is the right roof tile selected for a project?
Selection considers roof pitch and geometry, local wind, rain, snow and freeze conditions, structure, weight per m², colour and architectural intent. The manufacturer data sheet and installation details should be checked before fixing the tile model.
What pitch should a tiled roof have?
One pitch value cannot be applied to every tile and roof. Minimum pitch depends on tile model, overlap, rafter length, local rain and wind exposure and the waterproofing layer. The manufacturer detail and roof design must govern installation.
Does the roof tile alone provide waterproofing?
Roof tiles form the outer rain-shedding layer. A reliable roof also requires the underlay or vapour-control membrane, laps, valleys, chimneys, wall junctions and drainage details to work together. The tile alone should not be treated as the complete waterproofing system.
Why is roof ventilation necessary?
Correct airflow from eaves to ridge helps remove moisture from roof layers and reduce condensation risk. The location and quantity of ventilation tiles, eaves combs and ridge tapes are determined from the roof geometry.
How is an old tiled roof refurbished?
First inspect the timber or metal structure, pitch, waterproofing, valleys, chimney junctions and existing tiles. Reuse of sound tiles, renewal of underlays and accessories and the roof load are decided after this survey.
Paving brick, gardens and landscaping

What is clinker paving brick?
Clinker paving brick is a natural clay paving product fired at high temperature for outdoor ground use. Its high compressive strength and low water absorption make it suitable for paths, vehicle routes, courtyards, steps and landscaped areas.
Where can paving brick be used in gardens and landscaping?
Paving bricks can be used on garden paths, terraces, courtyards, parks, pedestrian and vehicle routes, steps, ramps, pool surrounds and permeable surfaces combined with grass. Product type, surface texture and bedding construction should match the expected load.
Can paving brick be used around a swimming pool?
Paving brick or Cotto products with slip-resistant surfaces and suitability for wet outdoor areas can be used around pools. Slip performance, water absorption, freeze resistance, edge details and correct drainage should be assessed together.
Can paving brick be used on vehicle routes?
Products with suitable compressive strength can be used on vehicle routes with the correct base, bedding layer, edge restraint and laying pattern. Vehicle weight and traffic frequency must be known before selecting the product and construction.
How is paving brick installed?
Prepare the ground for load and drainage, form a compacted sub-base and even bedding layer, lay the bricks in the selected pattern and restrain the edges. Fill joints with suitable material and compact the surface. Layer thicknesses depend on use and ground conditions.
How should clinker paving be maintained?
Regular sweeping and cleaning with water suitable for the surface is sufficient for most installations. Pressure washing should not remove the joints, and aggressive acidic chemicals should not be used casually on oil, rust or mortar stains. Test any treatment on a small area first.
Facing brick and Ekoklinker walls

What is the difference between facing brick and brick slips?
Facing brick is a full-bodied wall or façade product, while a brick slip is a thinner unit applied to an existing substrate. Structure, wall thickness, weight, corner treatment and installation method differ, so selection must follow the project detail.
Where can facing brick be used?
Facing brick can be used on building façades, garden walls, interiors and architectural features such as fireplaces and barbecues. For details near high temperatures, the product conditions and any direct fire exposure must be checked technically.
What is Ekoklinker?
Ekoklinker is a self-insulating wall system manufactured by placing mineral wool inside a clinker clay body. Different thicknesses and densities are available for thermal or acoustic wall requirements, selected according to building physics and wall design.
Which Ekoklinker wall thicknesses are available?
The manufacturer offers acoustic partition solutions in 10, 12, 15 and 19 cm, and thermal wall solutions in 20, 20S and 25S options. Selection must follow fire, acoustic, thermal and structural project requirements.
Adhesives, joints and substrates

Which adhesive should be used for brick slips?
Use a flexible adhesive in the class recommended by the manufacturer for brick slips, considering interior or exterior exposure, substrate, building height and cladding weight. A standard tile adhesive should not automatically be assumed suitable for every façade condition.
How should the substrate be prepared for brick slips?
The substrate should be sound, clean, near-dry, load-bearing, aligned and free from paint, oil, dust or loose material that reduces adhesion. Cracks, moisture, loose render and alignment defects must be treated first, with primer and mechanical fixing selected for the system.
In which weather conditions can brick slips be installed?
Manufacturer specifications generally state an application range of +5 °C to +35 °C for adhesive and joint filler. Do not install during frost, intense direct sun, strong wind or rain, and protect fresh work while it cures.
Does joint colour change the appearance of a brick façade?
Yes. The same brick can appear more uniform, contrasting or rhythmic with a light or dark joint. Evaluate brick colour, texture, joint width and joint colour together on a sample panel rather than relying only on a catalogue image.

Can I purchase materials without installation?
Yes. We provide product selection, technical documents, scheduling and delivery independently of installation. Before ordering, check the range, quantity, corner elements and complementary chemicals together.
Can I request samples of brick slips and other products?
Yes. Samples and technical documents are available for suitable products to support colour and texture selection. For large façades, a jointed sample panel is recommended to review natural shade variation between production batches.
Do you deliver building materials across Türkiye?
Yes. We deliver Işıklar Tuğla products across Türkiye according to project quantity and schedule. Transport is planned from product type, pallet count, total weight, delivery address and site unloading conditions.
In which cities do you provide façade and roof installation?
We provide façade and roof installation primarily in Bursa and Yalova, as well as Balıkesir, Eskişehir and Bilecik. Nearby locations can be assessed separately according to project size, scope and site programme.
